Breaking: Hotel Building Collapses In Ibadan, 7 People Injured

It is estimated that seven people were hurt when a four-story hotel building in Ibadan that was still under construction fell on Thursday.
One of the newer banks is right next to the collapsed hotel building in Ibadan’s Awosika neighborhood of Bodija.
According to a witness who talked with NAN, the event took place about 5:45 in the morning. while Muslims were coming back after their early morning prayers.
According to the witness, rescuers, including neighbors and bystanders, were able to save seven patients who are currently being treated at the University College Hospital in Ibadan.
The state Fire Service, the Federal Road Safety Corps, and other security organizations have assembled a team and are hard at work clearing the area of wreckage while looking for additional survivors.
Adewale Osifeso, the police spokesman in Oyo State, verified the event.
In the interest of public health and safety, Mr. Osifeso said that the site had since been sealed off with an adequate deployment of police officers.
It was unclear at the time this report was submitted if the tragedy had claimed any lives in addition to those who were gravely injured.
