Nigerian Army Honour Buratai, Other Eminent Nigerians With Special Recognition Award

The meritorious service of former Chief of Army Staff, Lt Gen. Tukur Yusufu Buratai (CFR) is still being celebrated till date.
On Monday, December 5th, 2022, the Nigerian Army gave him a special recognition award.
Interestingly, the Special Recognition Award by the Nigerian Army to Lt Gen TY Buratai Rtd CFR, former Chief of Army Staff and former Nigerian Ambassador to Benin Republic. Award was presented by President Muhammadu Buhari President, Commander-in-Chief of the Armed Forces of Nigeria at the ongoing Chief of Army Staff’s Annaual Conference 2022 in Sokoto.
Five other eminent Nigerians were given similar Award. They are Alhaji Abdul Samad Rabiu, the Chairma of BUA Group, Alhaji Aliko Dangote, president of Dangote Group, Chief Tony Elumelu, Chairman UBA Group, Chief Jim Ovia of JIM OVIA Foundation and chairman of Zenith Bank, and Col Hamid Ali Rtd Comptroller General of Nigeria Customs Service.
Speaking at the Chief of Army Staff Conference, President, Muhammadu Buhari directed the military to remain apolitical and continue to operate within the framework of the constitution to ensure the successful conduct of the for 2023 elections.
He also urged the Army to continue to improve to their human rights obligations during operations in line with global best practices
