Tragedy strikes: Woman fatally injured, baby rescued in lone accident by FRSC in Ondo
Officials from the Ondo State Command of the Federal Road Safety Commission (FRSC) successfully rescued an infant from a solo accident that occurred in Ayegunle-Oka, Akoko Southwest Local Government Area of Ondo State.
Unfortunately, the mother of the baby lost her life in the incident, which involved a Hiace Toyota Bus registered and identified as BWR 563 YL.
Ropo Alabi, the Unit Commander of FRSC in Ikare-Akoko, confirmed that the rescue operation occurred promptly after being notified of the accident. Community sources revealed that the swift response and arrival of the FRSC team greatly contributed to the safety of the baby.
Following the accident, the child received immediate medical attention and was subsequently handed over to the mother’s family. The individuals who came forward to take responsibility for the baby were identified as John and Joseph Ode.
Expressing gratitude on behalf of the family, Ode praised the FRSC officials for their exceptional efforts in rescuing the infant. He specifically commended their instrumental role in the successful operation, emphasizing that the FRSC not only saved a precious life but also provided hope and comfort to the grieving family. Ode expressed deep appreciation for the timely medical attention and care provided to the child during the rescue.
Meanwhile, the FRSC urged all road users to prioritize safety and adhere to traffic rules and regulations in order to prevent accidents and tragic loss of life.
